I think the voltage between drum and developer is wrong, causing developer to spill all over...???

Well based on my experience with smaller machines, yes. Have you checked the toner supply rate? Is it 850?

Anywhere from 1.5 million to 2 million, the dev units start puking developer out the back seals, developer falls on the paper feed units and "takes them out" so that they have to be cleaned and lubricated...the developer is some abrasive nasty shit!...oh yeah...and I do clean/replace the filter on the developer unit!

The MP6001 is a "Lipstick on a Pig" situation...ricoh changes the color and styling (maybe the system engine so it's a little faster) but underneath, it's the same shit!...same old shit...new day!

Another "gripe" is the foam gathering rollers on the finisher....FOAM???...for REAL?!...that shit ROTS!!!....how about a flexible rubber that DOESN'T rot?!?!

      NEED I SAY MORE?!

I TOTALLY AGREE....Especially the "Lipstick on a Pig" remark!!!!

              Re: MP6001 Dev dumping

              Hello

The "wrong toner" Problem is well known by Ricoh, we had similar problems (dirty copies, light copies) and so on, at the end the problem was the TYPE 9002 Toner...now with the new toner stock the problem disapeared.....but...i had a simlar problem with an MP 6001, after changing developer the customer called for light copies, i opened the Dev unit and surprise there was only 350 gramms (instead of 950) Developer inside the Group......i looked inside the machine but there was no developer around...I think the problem was a faulty potenzial sensor and the quenching lamp (broken connection)

For the Developer leaking at the rear of the developer unit i found a solution that worked for me, change the bushings with this one : B070 3170
              they have a bearing inside.

BTW--the copy count on this machine is/was around the 1.4 million mark at the time of epic fail.
