I was called out to a Ricoh Aficio 350e with an SC322 error code. I was able to reset the code when I got there without it coming back. I was waiting for the machine to warm up to make a copy. However I was never able to make a copy. The display would first flash please wait then flash auto-start, but would just continue to do this. I checked to make sure the heater lamp was coming on, eventhough I was getting any error codes, it was. I ended up changing The hard drive, the Laser Diode Unit, the Main Power Source board, The BICU board, and the IOB board. I'm not sure what else to change. Any help appreciated, thank you.

Have you actually tried replacing the detector board or reseat the connectors?
Your flash/auto restart makes me think bigger things are wrong here. You might also want to take a quick look at your wall power for low voltage. -
If your drum has bare areas the charge roller can arc into that and give you all sortsa problems. Check the charge roller contacts too."Some days you get the bear, some days the bear gets you."

It only takes a film of toner on any of the lsu components for this code to arise, systematically clean each part. if possible fit a spare lsu from another machine to verify source of problem. Good luck.Comment

firts try and do the ld beam pitch adjust that will get rid of the sc 322 after you cleaned ld unit!!!Comment

I discovered another symptom the other day. I thought I read a suggestion that it could be an exposure lamp problem. I went out to re-install their hard drive with a different cable which didn't work. I then raised the Radf and noticed that the scanner wasn't going through it's start up sequence including the lamp not coming on. I took out the lamp stabilizer PCB, the SIB PCB, and the SIFB PCB and brought them back to the office and tried them individually into another 350e copier and found the SIB PCB to be bad.Comment

Sometimes the entire laser unit on these beasts get stressed and misaligned internally when you tighten it down in the machine - try this: loosen the screws and pry up slightly on the right (PCU) side of the laser unit while you retighten the screws. This fixed about 75% of my machines when they were less than 6 months old. Given current age of this series you probably have a different problem, but this won't cost anything to try and might still work.73 DE W5SSJComment

sc322 is appearing because of LD unit is dirty, if you claen the LD unit properly it will be ok but if u r a exprience ricoh technician you can do more then that....try to dismental ld unit ..remove laser beam and prisom clean it well........reinstall it properly.after that go to the service mode......do 2109 s/p reset leser beam pitch audjustment and initilize 400and 600dpi again ..........i hope after that it will be ok
