There may be something going on with the laser or the values for the laser may be out of whack.

I do not see cleaning of the Image Density Sensor Assembly.

Not completely sure about this model, but on the C4502 you must input the new coefficient values provided with the new id sensor assy (sp3362-13, 3262-16)
            NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING

Re: Ricoh MPC 3502 wont line adjust

The few times I've had this issue on other models (haven't needed it on an 02 yet), I've always had success when I run what I call the "advanced line adjustment". I was given these extra steps a few years back on this site when I had the same problem as you describe.
                  Hope it helps.......

***Resetting ACC is that the calibration is written on top of the last calibration over and over. Therefore it becomes corrupt at some point, so the factory recall sets it back to default so you get a fresh start.

Re: Ricoh MPC 3502 wont line adjust

I don't work on anything that new, but that sounds a lot like someone did an all memory clear.
At least that's almost exactly what happened when I committed that idiot maneuver the first and only time back in the day.
As I'm not sure, I'll let the people more familiar with that model tell you whether this could be the case, and what to do about it.
Sorry if this was a waste of time.

Ricoh has had problems with the belt slipping and causing line adjustment problems.
