transfer belt/blade and as he stated already, charge roller. I would make sure that the fuser heat roller is in great shape along with the pressure roller. A laser unit going bad wouldn't cause a black line..... I would make sure that all your grounds in the PCU are making "clean" contact and that the ground in the PCU in the back is making good "clean" contact with the frame. Is the dev. mag roller clean? That will make black marks on the copies.
Hey, can you attach an example? We'll get you fixed up....

Does it do it when you feed from the top feeder? Does it do it when you make an internal print?... too many varibles without an example...
There was a big problem with those machines from people leaning on the top and bending the frame causing black lines when you feed it from the top.... Let us know..

        yap...

It's important to exclude any scan related problems. Just print the counter page or something like that to make shure that the scanner isn't involved.

If the line(s) is NOT running with the feed direction you probably have a bad drum shaft grounding - than can cause different thick lines/bars. If this is the symptome I'd check the grounding with a multimeter - remove the drive belt from the drum shaft gear so you can turn it to see if the ohm reading starts fluctuating. Best case is almost zero Ohm.
