Re: MP 4001 SC995 ERROR
SC995 means the controller is not the right one. This series is a little complicated on which boards fit what, but I've seen it a ton. Wrong controller.Comment

IMG_20161121_135511167.jpg[QUOTE=tnelson;541135]i agree, betting its not the correct controller. if the part# isn't D092-5724 you've got the wrong one! nothing you do will change the 995 code.[/QUOTE
Thanks again guys for the input....if it is the wrong board how do you tell? Neither of the boards have that part# anywhere on them.
Here is a picture of both...Original on the left, replacement on the right.Comment

Re: MP 4001 SC995 ERROR
We have been assuming for some time that the ethernet port on this machine fell victim to a surge of some type....but is it
possible that network function got disabled somehow in the settings? Maybe there's nothing wrong with the board?
I have looked all through the service menu but have yet to find anything like that.Comment

Re: MP 4001 SC995 ERROR
It is more likely the nic has been damaged removing the network cable have a close look at both nic compare them
in sp mode 5895 or around that area ( Device Setting you can turn off or on the nic and usb
Did u buy the machine second hand ? did the network function work when you bought it? did you see it working ?I Used To Live To Fix Things Now i Fix Things To LiveComment

Re: MP 4001 SC995 ERROR
Check SP5985. NIC should be set to 1. Check User Tools / System Settings / Interface Settings / IEEE802-x Authentication for Ethernet isn't active. This is with the old controller in and the NVrams and RAM dimms back on it. Run an NCS memory clear if that doesn't work, NOT a clear all. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: MP 4001 SC995 ERROR
The D0925xx is on the left and D0855xx on the right - NOT the same board.
Even though the components may be the same, the firmware on the board dictates what goes and what does not.
If you look at the top right of each board there is a chip with a sticker on it - there is a number, then a ":" colon and another number. The second number is the CPM that the board supports.
The board on the left, is 40/50 and the one on the right 28/33. This will NOT work.Press the GREEN button!!Comment

The nic is good, no damage (good idea though, I have seen that before) The machine was here when I hired on, so I don't know it's history.
The Owner was using it connected to his PC via the USB cable, He mentioned that it would not connect to the network. After he moved to
a new office it has just been collecting dust and I finally started messing with it to see if it could be fixed.Comment

I did effect a change of some kind while messing with it...before the green light on the NIC would steady blink on and off now just the amber light is on steady. Hmmm.
I will keep trying different settings to see if I can get it to work.Comment
