I’ve been fooling around lately trying to become comfortable with configuring scan to email with SSL.
I’ve only set it up a couple of times, and it’s always just been on my own home office machine.
I have an issue at a client’s office that I feel I need to configure with SSL, because a recent installation of Office 365 is causing the current configuration to be flagged as spam.
I’ve had them configured using my own company mail server for about a year now, and it’s been perfect until last week. I tried another couple of non-ssl options that I often use, and they all get flagged now for some reason.
I’ve had similar instances at other locations like this recently too (maybe we can get into them later on
)
Here’s the credentials I’ve entered, and “yes” I’m sure about the passwords, etc, because I can log into their online mail account with them
Smtp Server: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587
I’ve entered the proper auth email, username, and P/W for the account and turned “On” SSL in the SMTP server menu of the copier.
The error message is simply "connection with the destination has failed..."
I’m currently just testing this on an MP301 I have at home and trying to get it working, before going to the customer’s office to configure their MP 3352, so (probably a stupid question), is there any reason that I wouldn’t be able to scan using their credentials if it’s not on their network? I don’t see why it should matter.
I have the machine working over SSL using both my Gmail account, and my company mail server accounts.
Is there a specific site certificates that needs to be installed for Office 365? (Those are confusing to me too)
I’ve seen several threads relating to SSL, but in trying to piece them all together, I’ve still been unable to get this working with the office365 server.
I’ve looked at the system log, but as usual, it might as well be written in Swahili, for all that it means to me
.
I can upload it if anyone thinks it might help.
Thanks for any advice!
