No, it has to done to the machine. WIM needs to be used to install a certificate to the machine.

You are saying that the MFP will generate the certificate? Isnt that certificate for the WIM?

No, the MFP does not generate the certificate. If you read the Knowledge base document I posted, you are copying a certificate extracted from your browser to the MFP. You are confusing site certificate with device certificate.

So what you telling me is that we should generate a certificate, according to the instructions you shared, for any connection that makes use of SSL / TLS. Yes?

No,you are not generating a certificate. The certificate already exists on your browser. You are just exporting from the browser to a file and then transferring it to the MFP.

Hello.

I will try to explain the results performed in the tests.

After the instalation of the certificate following the procedure that you sent me, I was able to conect to the server only using the SMTP standard port 25. When I enable the "Use Secure Connection" it vanish the field of the comunication port number and it does not work... I think in this models (MPc3001) it uses the standard port 465 (SSL) when we enable the "Use Secure Connection" and we need to use 587 (TLS).
Even thow I was able to connect using Port 25 i could not send the attachment. It shows the message "enable to connect with the server...".

Like I said I think in this models (MPc3001) it uses the standard port 465 (SSL). Is there a way to change it to 587 (TLS)? Like for instance via Telnet?

Try changing the port to 587 before enabling secure connection.

I'd just like to ask you a simple question.
I took a look at the advanced options of the certificate and I was in doubt if I did not have to activate the checked options.
