    without issue all day..
i did ck GG and saw nothing on this..
have not gone to account yet but any ideas?

Does it have a finisher? If so, bridge unit switches. If not, try firmware.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

what is the smc report saying on the jam?

can you put it to sleep and duplicate jam when a print job sent to it so that you are there when it happens?

The smc should give you a jam location and time etc. Phantom jams wheres there no paper in the machine is usually a misfeed from the tray, which tray is designated for fax prints, or a power on jam which could be a door switch, i have found several times the push switch on the right hand side will get gummed up and cause door open for just a second which is a enough to interrupt the machine, you can usually spot this by pushing in on the right side door while its closed wiggling the door will cause the machine to beep like you just opened and closed it.

I would check those and get the smc info to see where its saying its jammed.

The SMC printout will show you the location, time and total for the last 10 jams. Display SP 7507 for the jam at the time you are interested will also show a code for the paper size. If you are getting a trail edge jam being shown on the SMC report, all received faxes on the fax journal are there and the print on the page received during the night is either rotated 90 or reduced, the paper size switch(s) might be going bad.

Re: ODD jams upon wakeup from sleepmode

I've seen this sort of jamming in environments that are not temperature/humidity controlled. If it's cool and humid, moisture will collect in the top pages in the paper tray, and on the fuser guides. The paper either never makes it out of the tray or sticks in the moisture on the guides before the fuser, and never makes it in.

If this is the case, you might try to convince the enduser to locate the machine in a heated area, or to leave the temperature above 60F. Another solution that worked for one of my customers was to wake up the machine 1/2 hour before using it in the morning. Naturally that won't help for those overnight faxes. Maybe you could forward those to email instead?

It would help a great deal to know the jam codes. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                thanks all
I have them using their old 3228 for faxes as i had parts on order for a different machine and they were ok
                with waiting till next week..
I am leaning towards firmware or doorswitch as this office is in midtown building on the upper floors so machine stays warm and cozy
