    Mpc4502

    Hello,
i have a problem with slight striped gray background, but test print (1103) is OK. Lines are stronger in full color print or copy. Sometimes gray lines almost already (are not visible), but later again returned.

Printer SP 1103-001 or SP 1103-002?

Can you scan us a sample?

What have you checked so far? Clean the slit glass for each color and clean the ITB cleaning unit.

How does it look if you print or copy one color at a time?

It makes grey vertical stripes in the background. Test print(1103) is perfect.

I do not see grey stripes in the background. I see an overall cyan background with magenta stripes. My guess is that you have a problem with the lifting mechanism for the color transfer rollers in the ITB.

If they do not show up on a printed page but you get them making copies then clean your optics, in b&w mode you will get grey but in color mode dust on the optics could show up in any color depending on the density of the dust and how much light is reflected or absorbed. At 160k if your seeing this in print mode i would replace the itb cleaning unit and check your cyan and magenta drums you can remove the charge roller and lube bar from the bottom with a couple screws, you can vac out the lube bar chunks and clean the charge rollers.
Like slim said though you can check the itb unit itself i had several of the itbs have issues on that model
