The reason that the pumps fail isn't due to being clogged...it's more to do with the fact that the round parts inside the unit get worn into an oval shape.
Using a second hand pump is never recommended for that very reason.
You can easily swap the pump in from any color....we only order the black pump units these days as they fit each colour.

Alright - it's nice having USB back again finally.

Replaced the black toner pump and it's doing it less now, but still happening. This was a used black toner pump off the other machine.

Question - can I pull a toner pump from another call on the other machine and blow it out with compressed air and swap in as black or will that F it up? Don't wanna throw another $100 at this thing... lol

The PCDU is the drum unit and development unit connected together. After removing the PCDU from the machine, you have to remove the front cover and a retaining clip and bushing from the back to separate the two units.

The clicking noise has returned again and I keep getting repeated, false toner empty notifications on black. Pulled another toner pump and replaced it with another used one. Got a bit better, but still keeps happening repeatedly.

It sounds like a gear or something on the back of the machine is trying to engage and struggling. What else can I do? Any direction is really appreciated!!

Buy a NEW toner pump with tubing. With the clicking, by now you might also replace the gear that drives that toner pump.

As you got the machine dirt cheap I would spend a bit more on the machine & call out a Ricoh tech to give the machine a good service & clean a good tech will also update the firmware, even show you the basics to maintain it yourself in the future.
This would be money well spent!

Buy a NEW toner pump with tubing. With the clicking, by now you might also replace the gear that drives that toner pump.

Gears - AB01 0367 and 0368. Hope it's just the little one that's shredded that drives the dev unit. If not, it's a good chunk of the back of the machine out.

No clue what any of this means:

Printer Language: RPCS [3.3.25.1.2], PCL 5c [1.13], PCL XL [1.13]

Also - is it really that bad to use 3rd party toner? I just ordered some the other day...

If you use a KATUN toner it will be good as original.

So here's my latest problem, lol.

Getting a faint yellow line down the middle of the length of the page (11x17). Switched out drums as well as the image transfer belt and I'm still getting the problem. Vacuumed out the whole printer... not sure where to go next.

I'm also getting a lot of dirty, black spotty prints. Is this likely a drum issue?

Any help is appreciated!!
