    MP C3503 slow response on buttons and touchscreen

    Buttons on control panel and touchscreen are slow to respond, up to a 4 second delay. Have done the following: recalibrated(orientation is actually ok). Tried another entire control panel. Updated all firmware including lcdc. In the readme file for the lcdc there was reference to a fix for slow button response so thought we had it but it did not help. Oddly, after running recalibration with new firmware, it works great for about a minute then slow again.
    Anyone encounter this before. Would like to avoid swapping boards, etc. if possible.

    Have you seen if it responds normally with the network cable removed?

    The 02 models used to be slow to respond but the 03 series should be, as you know, a lot more responsive.

      Actually haven't connected the copier to a network yet . It is an off lease machine that we were prepping to go in the field. It has a combined copy count of 40k.

        Since it is a previously installed machine, you might want to clean up some of the memory:
        5801-003 SCS, System Control Service
        5801-004 IMH
        5801-005 Mcs
        5801-006 Copier Application
        5801-007 FAX Application
        5801-008 Printer Application
        5801-009 Scanner Application
        5801-010 Web Service
        5801-011 NCS Network Control Service
        This will return most settings to factory defaults in case the previous user had any settings that might be causing slow response.

        Check to see if there are any JAVA apps installed and running. If there are, stop them and stop JAVA. Reboot and check if this clears the slowdown.

          Thanks for the replies. We did clear memory and format the hdd but will double check on those specific ones. Didn't think about Java, will check that and let you know.

            Unfortunately, the controller processor on the 20/25/30/3503 is powered by a small gerbil on a wheel. They're painfully slow. Equitrac machines can take up to 10 minutes to boot. PDF's take forever to print. Nature of the beast I'm afraid.
            It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.
