Ricoh MP 2051sp scan to folder problem

    Hi everyone

I'm facing scanning issue on this machine .
It shows communication/transmission status is standby only. I checked with other machine the storage path and authentication all same. But when I tried to do a connection test it shows "connection failed, check the communication path" . The other engg told me to update the firmware and check.
If firmware needs to be updated can anyone share the firmware file.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes this is a known issue, you'll need to update the firmware, especially network however it is always best to update ALL the files.

Since you are getting the message "connection failed, check the communication path" is might not be firmware. Try going into the addressbook entry from the MFP control panel (not WIM) and do a connection test. If it connects but you cannot send, you need firmware. If connection fails, check that all your interface settings are correct. If domain name, workgroup, or DNS are not correct, the 2051 might not be able to resolve Netbios name.

            Hi
I updated the latest network firmware even though same like before .
The same path and authentication used one more HP scanner. There it's working with out any errors.
            Thanks in advance

You can temporarily stop " Firewall " & " Antivirus " (if there is any), then try again; I hope it will help you.

That is a server shared folder so they will not change any settings on that. Here They have HP ,Konica Minolta and Ricoh machines. Only in Ricoh it's not working. Thanks in advance.

                  Hi.

Try to change the SMB port to 445 using telnet.

                  Telnet Comand:

                  >smb client port 445
                  >logout
                  >yes

note: there was a Windows update for Server environments that desabled the 139 net bios port for SMB...

/What you need is Special/Custom Firmware B140_Network_Support_V4.18.2C_LRC0466 dated 7/1/2013. I do not know if it is available anywhere other than North America. It is not standard production firmware. The last production NCS firmware was released in 2007.

Go to Control panel, select "Programs & Features". On the top left, select "Turn Windows features on or off"
Scroll down to "SMB 1.0/ File sharing support" and make sure it is ticked. Do a quick restart and hopefully you will be good to go.

See if this doesnt sort your issue.

I suspect this 4 year old issue has probably been resolved by now
