So far, so good.
Have had a couple fail on installation with SC672, needed to replace controller boards to solve. Also one problem with the ribbon cable between the IPU and BCU board.
Be careful with the new type of ribbon cable connector, you have to squeeze the lugs to disconnect. One of the techs tried to pry the plastic clip like the old style and ruined the board.
I rate the '04 range as
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.
Does anyone know if we could utilise a controller from a MPC4504sp onto another MPC4504sp, will this just not work, or can we get around this by performing a NVRAM clear ?
Hello,
What is your experience? Is it a good machine without troubles?
I like it, and it works on average well like the whole series, as Zeldaman said, that whole series is equipped with the anti-curling device, which according to the service manual on the lower models is not effective, and therefore is disabled by sp, let's say it makes a little more complicated to disassemble the fuser, and you have to be careful not to break the various weak plastics that compose it, it happened to me, among other things the assy is very expensive.... of the anti-curl unit I mean

If it's the same board going into the same model just swap the NVrams over.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
