NEED HELP!!! MP C3000 No Yellow!

We have a Ricoh MP C3000 and the yellow is not printing the full length of the print. I think the return auger is broken in the DV unit. The yellow toner stacks on the front of the DV unit (heavy yellow) and is light at the rear. The unit was taken apart and cleaned and checked, of course the return auger can't be seen. What do you think.

Customer needs this now and we will be ordering the DV unit on 10-16-08 if I don't hear different.
    Thanks,
    Mike (and Kevin)

I've not seen this problem, but I don't think you can get replacement parts for the dev units. So I think ordering the unit is the only choice. You might want to order a set or two as the units should be replaced at the second developer change if my memory serves me.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.

right - 160k = changing developer only - 320k = changing the whole dev unit

Never had a problem with a broken auger with the mpc series but nothing is impossible. Guess you have to wait for your replacement if you have no chance to exploit an old unit,

I've seen this problem where it only prints a color on part of the page and it was the Image Transfer Belt Unit.

          Remote Possibility

Pretty remote possibility, but check grounding for image transfer belt unit. Improper or inadequate grounding (due to dirty electrical connections or ground paths) have been known to cause weird image issues.

Thanks for the input folks, We ordered a new DV unit this morning. THe funny thing is the color units only have about 5,000 copies on them, where as the blk has 320,000. We just changed out the image transfer belt. On a side note, this same copier had the helical cut gear that rides on the fuser pressure roller split in half!!! Hope these problems are not a omen!??!!

One I have seen is when a PM is done (replacing both PCU and DV tanks) the bushing and circlip has been left off (bushing and circlip are on the rear of the PCU and DV assy and hold the units together).

That will give the result you are describing as the gap between the PCU and DEV unit is too big at the rear..

Well the transfer roller for the yellow ended up being bad! (we put the old one back in) This had just been replaced during the PM. The only thing we can figure is something went thru and broke the fuser gear and messed up the transfer roller.

Glad u got it solved - not the first time a problem got PM'd into a machine...

Remember this quote for future reference... there is a tech bulletin out about the shutter not opening that could have caused your problem and a whole bunch more stuff you can spend hours beating your head against... don't ask me how I know.

                      Problem Solved

This is the other tech on this one. I found out a brand new transfer unit had the yellow transfer roller knocked out of position. Took the new one apart, fixed the transfer roller (loose on one side) and set it back in. Works great. Has 100K since working on it.

We had this happen on three new intermediate transfer belt units last summer. All three cases it was the yellow transfer roller. A hint was that the line adjustment failed which lead to seeing the yellow didn't transfer fully to the non-op side of the int. belt.

Another interesting fact in Ricoh's never ending curious pricing of parts is that while each bag of developer is around $26, each developer unit with the developer in it is around $42. We change the developer units rather than the developer.
