    MPC 5503 with SC 665-02

    Hello,

i have a allmost brandnew MPC 5503 who comes with a SC 665-02 right in the Start-Up-Procedure.

In the Manual the Code means a Connection Failure between the BCU and the Picture IOB.

I changed the BCU without success.

    Anybody has an Idea ?

    Cheers
    Roger

I find when I have issues like that, reseating ALL connections of both PWB's helps.

if it is a new machine as you mentioned, Ricoh needs to take his responsibility and help you out.

Does it have lower paper trays or an LCT? If so, take the machine off it / them and try again.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

You could have an issue with the NVRam.

Have you tried flashing ALL the firmware?

                Hello Folks,

thanks for your Help, but i still have the same Problem.

When i pull out the Toner Cartriges i can update the Firmware and can enter the Service Mode.
In this stage ( Toner is out ) when i put the Toner in, the Maschine cant recognize the Cartriges.
When i restart the Maschine, with the Cartriges pullt IN , i get the SC665-02 again !

Do you think the Problem is in the 4 ID Chips Board,or maybe the controll-Unit of them ? ( each of this ID-Chips are located at the front of the Toner cartriges, right ? )

                This is realy strange !

                Cheers
                Roger

                  Folks,

                  Wonder Happens............

I changed all the Toner Cartridges and now....the Maschine runs well !!!!!!!

I dont no why,but it seems that maybe all the Toner Cartridges have some wrong informations on the Chip.

Now i am checking this Baby......it runs well.

                  Thanks for your Input

                  Cheers

My guess is that one or all of the toner bottles had bad RFID chips. Or maybe the machine damaged them. If this problem repeats you may have to look at the RFID sensor board on the machine.
