    Re: SMBV2/V3 SUPPORT

Hopefully there will be some degree of support for previous generations that were in production when Microsoft first introduced SMB3 in Windows 8. As an independent, the site is one of the few places I can get information on the status of issues like this.

Considering that when Ricoh first released support for SMBv2/v3 it was only on the 04 color models and now has been expanded to additional models, maybe. Note paragraph at top right of announcement:
This Publications bulletin will be republished on
a continuing basis as more models are added
      and additional information becomes available.
Current production models will be first as production firmware is released. Models no longer in production will probably be a custom firmware release.

        Re: SMBV2/V3 SUPPORT

Just to note: All Ricoh models will still continue to scan to folder SMB v1 without any issues.
The ONLY issue will arrise if customers IT disable SMB v1.

99%of my customers this is not an issue.

The secret Here is keep firmware upto date then one has the option to enable SMB v2 etc
Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

          Re: SMBV2/V3 SUPPORT

The fall update of Windows 10 and the next major update for Server 2016 will both disable SMB1 by default. SMB2 has been supported on every Windows OS since Vista and in Samba since 2010. Microsoft has been preaching retiring SMB1 or CIFS since Windows 7. It's been more or less laziness on the part of MFP manufacturers to continue using such an old protocol. The degree to which the manufacturers have had to play catch up on so many issues should have taught them a lesson.

Writing only supports synchronous transfer, and even if set to asynchronous transfer, the device will still
                perform synchronous transfer

I wonder how noticeable this will be to the end users. Only time will tell...
