Incompatible usb cable ? MPC300

This message is on the machine, it wont come to ready, print or fax,Client does not have any usb hooked to it, I disconnected the fax board, same message, i disconnected the USB cable from the board in the back, same message
anyone have this happen and what fixed it?

Cable no, device yes on some older models with a USB slot for scanning. The small PCB the the connector was mounted on was defective.

For me since the customer was not using the scan to USB and did not want to pay for a new board, I just disconnected it.

ok kool thanks ill just do that , your talking about the usb on the panel correct? i cant disconnect the one on the print controller,

What I was working on was an older machine that had a USB connector on the left side panel near the front. Can't remember the model. It was over a year ago.
