    CL7300 - Color Alignment fail

Hi all, our Ricoh Aficio CL7300 have some color miss alignment. When we go in the maintenance menu, then color regist, auto adjust, it display Adjusting... then after some time it display Failed. Press # to exit It do the exact same thing when we try the Fuser adjust. Tried to reboot the printer, even disconnected the power for some time, we always get the same result. I have read that a low cartridge may do that, we replaced the only cartridge that had the low light on, still no luck We changed the CMY and K dev unit yesterday, can it be related? Thanks for helping me.

The CL 7300 is the printer version of the 3235c copier. This family has had all kinds of line position error issues. Does the output still look good, or are the colours misaligned? I have a couple of both copier and printer versions that fail the line position and yet the output is great.
If the output is good, it may be a good thing to just ignore the error so long as it doesn't throw any kind of SC. If the colour alignment is off though, check the PM counter on the drums (SP 7-803-38 to SP 7-803-41). If any of them are past yield, you may want to replace them. Also check the shiny roller at the top of the transfer unit. If toner has gotten through that roller it will give you a bad line position reading. Let us know what you find...

SP 5-993-025 has a range of 0 to 345 so the reading you're getting is within normal range, this is also a factory only setting so leave it be. The black dots along the edges of that top roller of the transfer belt can throw the readings off as the shiny coating of that roller is what the ID sensors use for line position.
Cleaning that roller and also, depending on the total number of pages printed on the machine, replacing the transfer belt may take care of the issues you're having.
