Re: Mpc4502 paper scraping sound infuser area
I know exactly the sound you are talking about. The paper separation grid, above the transfer roller, run your finger along it and you will find one or more of the spikes are raised. This is what is making the scraping noise as the paper runs over it. Had this many times on many machines. You have to take it off and bend the spikes back flat. -

Had this many times myself, definitely your culprit.Comment

Everybody who has worked on the c5502 knows that sound. It can also cause creasing, which looks like a press roller problem.
You can just take the plate out. It doesn't create any issues. Be very careful popping the end bushings (?) off. The clip breaks off easily. The plastic gets brittle since it's so close to the fuser.Comment
