Ricoh MPC305 - broken Guide Plate : Reverse Upper

Can anybody advise if they have found a easy way of replacing Guide Plate : Reverse Upper without stripping the whole scanning unit of the machine first.

It the reverse paper guide that sits about the fusing unit and breaks on the left hand side which causes the paper to jam on a duplex request.

there must be an easy / hack way of taking it out with stripping the machine down.

the machine I need to fix is in a dark room and at chest hight! .. no other place to move it to as its a nursery with children running about.
Any advise welcome

The exit unit?

Does not look like there is a short cut.
Your have to move the machine to a more convenient place to work on it.

Its not so bad once you changed a few. Still easier than repacing some units on this little box!

I’ve got one to change this week as it happens!

about 30 min job, as previously said, one of the easier ones.

Yes ive done it before, Once in a basement with bad lighting and the other was in a dark corner behind a busy/bumpy dentists reception desk.
Seems to be my trial in life to fit parts in the dark! lol

Part on back order so i have a rest period to eat as many carrots as possible before the visit.

I always tell the costumer to move the box to a repairman convenient location, OR NO REPAIR!!! Do not comprise your health, no one will ever thank you for it.

This is the one I did today, only took around 45 mins taking my time, only thing to watch out for is the fragile scanner ribbon cable.

All sorted - luckly it was a sunny day.

I tool a cab to place it on and did it out side. Not only a completed job but topped up my Vit D levels as well.

Ha ha yes i thought that. very lucky.
The only issue was making sure i didnt drop any screws as the gaps between the bricks on the driveway would of given me a challenge.
