    C4501 controller replacement

Hi, All. I have a c4501 with a blown controller. I have another c4501 parts machine with a good controller in it, and I tried that one in the machine, but I get a sc995-1 code. Do I also need to swap the nvram on the bcu to get it to work?

You need to swap the NVRam from the dead controller to the replacement, you have a serial number mismatch check the serial numbers match, have a read of the service manual.

Try SP5811-04 and then # Type in the correct serial number found on the back of the machine. Turn machine off/on.

I already did all that, including RTFM, still the same, that's why I asked about the bcu nvram (eprom). It seems like I seen something regarding this on this forum a while back, search yielded nothing I was looking for.

Never done it myself, but seems you're on the right path, Mika.
I found this thread that the poster says he ended up replacing NVram and EEprom, then input S/N and issue was resolved.
        SC 995-01 MP5002

        Hope it helps.
        Good Luck!

just need to take the nvram from the old controller and put it on the new one then enter factory sp and make sure all the serials under 5811 match...you'll probably have to change one.

Provided that the original NVRAM isn't toast.

It ABSOLUTELY helped, thank you. Problem is resolved. Just a note, even though I could enter the serial number in sp5811, it would not take until I tried entering it in factory mode. All is well now. Have a great weekend! Thanks for all replies, techies.
