Re: pro 8100 jam 42 dplex entrance
The A3 is part of the instructions for the operator as to what to open to remove the jam. Your service manual will tell you what a J042 is. That will tell you what you might to do to correct it. This is a high volume production machine. If you have not been trained properly on it, you should not be attempting to repair it. -

The solenoid can go bad, also the spring that returns it.It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

I'm pretty sure telling that to the powers that be won't fly in most cases. In this day and age most training comes from RTFM, at least it does in my neck of the woods.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

As for the A3, since I am retired and there do not have ready access to look at a machine, I could be wrong but I believe it refers to the lever that kicks open to prevent multi sheet accordion jams going into the registration roller, similar to the B2 lever on the Aficio 551 through through The MP 6502. Usually means that it is still open.Comment
