It was resolved by replacing gathering roller. Did not have many miles on roller but felt like it was wet.Leave a comment:

I have an MPC3003 with an internal finisher that when stapling the first and last pages are fine, but page 2 and sometimes page 3 exit finisher but do not get pulled back in to staple. I have updated firmware. This does not happen all the time but mostly when stapler 4 or fewer pages.

check the operation of the jogger arms/belts in the finisher. Sounds like they need to cleaned or replaced .
how many prints are on the unit?
