Had this exact same issue after cleaning the engine, it deleted the DF settings, if you have the birth certificate (inside front door) check all the feed settings for yoir single pass DF you will find some at zero when should be like 800.

I had the same problem. It was the CIS. It was less money to buy a high meter used machine than it was to replace the CIS.

This is from another thread with the same problem.
"the smc sheet under the front door DID have the values!! and It worked!!! Thanks to all who responded
The default value on my machine were
                4-712=3666
                4-713-3741
                4-714- 4082
In case some else needs a starting point"

Enter SP mode>system> and enter the values above. It may not be the exact numbers needed as they vary with each CIS, but it may get a second side image. If it does, and you do not have the birth certificate of the machine, you can change these values a little at a time until you achieve an acceptable image.
If you have the birth certificate of the machine with these values on it, use them but reinstall the ORIGINAL DF beforehand. These values are stored in machine memory, not in the document feeder.
It DOES NOT MATTER if you change the document feeder, the machine STILL does not have values entered for these SP's. I said this because you have not indicated that you have even checked to see if these values have been entered.

                Ok, I'm done.

thanks I did this and it worked, these codes do not appear in the manual, only in the factory settings sheet.
                  greetings from Chile
