MPC3003 copy quality issue

the copy looks like something is blocking the mirrors but there is nothing, the lamp come on all the way across
prints are steller! couldnt be more perfect
i cant see any obstruction in the lens

clean mirrors with water and dry well.

I always apply some Rain-X Anti-Fog to the mirrors.. helps keep Ozone from building up on the ( purple haze )

looks more drum/dev related...

is that from the ADF or bed?

Are you SURE the lamp stays on the whole time? It almost looks like you might have a bad ribbon cable in your scanner, and the light cuts out at one end or the other.

Does it do the same through the Document Feeder, or is this just copies off the glass?

yes it does it on the glass or doc feeder
the lamp seems to stay on the whole time,

The black band appears to be the same distance from the lead edge and you say that it does it both off the glass and the doc feeder, I would say you have a memory problem in the IPU Memory clear of the IPU might help.

Before you do anything rash, Try removing your sbu cover and clean the lense. Also make sure the SBU connections are tight.aka. unplug and re-plug.

I replaced the machine and will start to diagnose in the warehouse , i will post any findings

also , I found out a "all memory clear" was done by accident ,(yeah sure) i have the birth cert, but is this a clue?

sounds like someone with a lil knowledge mucked it up. At least you have the BC so now you just have to re-input those settings and start over with the diagnosis
