    Ricoh mpc2003 + sr3130 = jam r1+r2 + sc724!

    hello to all, I have a strange problem with mpc2003 and finisher sr3130 jam R1, R2 + sc724
every 4-5 stapled sheets the stapling unit closes but then does not reopen, and remains in the closed position, holding the dossier firmly, and you have to go brute force to tear off the stapled sheets, I checked everything as far as possible (it's a casino to disassemble) and I have not found anything in particular, I saw in another discussion that someone has solved it by replacing the cartridge only, the customer had finished the cartridges, then I carefully inspected the cartridge, I marched well a row of points (you never know), I tried on the portal ricoh some bulletin, but I did not find anything, I also heard the ricoh Italy and they told me that the only problem on that model was some harness, now I loaded it on the van and took it to the lab and installed it on a mpc3003, and the problem strangely does not do it anymore, I did not do anything! ... someone to some precious suggestion? ... I would not want to bring it back to the customer (from al between part of Milan) and then call me again ... thanks in advance

Had a finisher issue on an MP6001 last month. First there was a Jam Code, paper stuck at staple tray then SC code. Replaced board, staple cartridge, staple unit but same issue. We found out the problem was the harness from the stapling unit.
    Aye! Cut the crap

thanks keithxxiii, update: this morning I disassembled a bit for what you can and I blew the sensors with air and detached and reattached a few pins, now the defect (sc724-86) has become fixed, it stinks a bit of stapple unit harness ( ?)

Although this finisher is compatible for more machines, it could be that - when you take it from another machine where the finisher originaly was installed - you need to adjust some dip switches.

thanks mark, this morning in lab on a mpc3003, it worked, and the defect was gone, then I disassembled it and did what I wrote before but now the defect is fixed, then I look at it better

UPDATE: I unmounted the stapling unit, and I found with the multimeter a bad connection in one of the blue sensor wires of the controller harness> stapling unit, (if I touched it lost the signal) I sent the spare order to the ricoh ( D6905403) in two days arrives, I will let you know...bye

Pay attention to how the old one comes out, those stapler harnesses are a bitch to fit.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

              Hit it.

In THAT case you will have to contact Ricoh Support for the part number for the staple harness.

yes I did, at first I suspected it was the wiring, and I phoned the ricoh, and he told me that the only problem that arose was on the wiring, not specifying which wiring, and he told me he would send me the code of the spare, which actually in the manual is not there, I checked, however with the technical bulletin that sent me MBA, explains very well ... tomorrow comes the spare

Hi everyone, I replaced the staple harness, and now everything works ok. but it happened that this morning I went to the customer to re-install it, I try it, and everything is ok there, then it happens that the customer arrives trying to staple about 50-60 sheets (my mistake that I have not counted) the customer makes the stapling only one at the top (are the reports of the condominium meetings that the administrator sends a paper file to each condominium) ... at this point the 3130 tries to staple the top corner, but fails, moves 2- 3 cm down, and staple (!?) ... here! ... from now on has always stapled so! ... the central double staple is ok, the one in the lower corner as well, but the one in the other it is 3 cm lower.I tried to call ricoh, and he said it could be the firmware (?), but fuck, I did at least 300 tests and had not given problems! ... anyone has any idea? ... p.s. I've seen in peripheral-sp that there are various calibrations, but I do not even try because I'm sure the problem is not there

is this finisher the original c2003 on this machine or was this finisher original installed on another model (which you took it to put it on this c2003)?

I can't find the specs for SR 3130 but I do believe that 50 to 60 is more than an internal finisher is designed to be able to staple.
