    [Dead] "replace toner cartridge" message

I have an MP C401sr that is displaying this message for black. I have replaced the cartridge, cleaned out the toner housing. I ordered the PCB/RFID. Anyone have this? If so, what was fix?

If the machine sees the cartridge and tries to recover but does not, have a look at the mylar / foam seal between the toner hopper halves. I have seen the seal come loose and end up blocking the passage of toner to the sub-hopper. I just trimmed out the offending part of the seal.

SP 3045 can be used to disable the RFID while waiting for a new board. Starting with the xx03s it has been moved to Factory SP Mode.

The machine does not see the cartridge

If you have the message "toner not set" check the contacts in the rear of the machine are not bent, happens when users are too rough replacing the toner.

Also worth trying another new toner if you have one.

Thanks. I did try another toner. I was trying to get to the contact in the back of the housing, but it was hard to tell where exactly the contact happens.
