Solution for J019 on MP 6002/7502.

    Good afternoon fellow believers,

Came across one that was making me pull out what's left of my hair!! An MP 7502 getting J019 jams at the duplex entrance guide. The paper was actually leaving the fuser and hitting the duplex frame, rather than going past the sensor and into the duplex unit itself.

I noticed the guide plates that shift to the left when you close the fuser drawer weren't going far enough to the left, and the pressure plate was actually moving freely on the shaft. I replaced it with the updated version that has 3 roll pin locations, instead on the single one, and the issue is resolved. Here's a pic of the broken part, to give you an idea what to look for if you start getting those same jams.

    Good luck gang....

Yeah that problem is hard to detect, here's a tech pub, I think it is the same part that you found broken.D131-12.pdf
Ricoh should have titled the pub "J-019" or "jam 019"

Nothing new. Common problem going all the way back to the Aficio 551. Similar problems with analog models such as FT7950.

That's exactly it!! The only way to really detect it without tearing the machine apart is if you can physically move the guide plate on the shaft.

I've done that a few times on these.

on the back frame you can push that guide to the left an there is screw hole where you can put a long screw through and it will hold that guide closed until you order one. you may have to take out a smaller screw, was several years back when I did this.

If Ricoh is anything they are consistent. Sometimes that also means consistently bad.

Thanks so much, this happened to me also in which a little dab of JB quick epoxy did the trick!
