I looked into my crystal ball and it asked me 'what the hell is the model number???!", and then it told me to 'call a tech' if I couldn't at least provide that information.

Have you checked your service manual. Lacking the specific model, all I can say is start with formatting or replacing the entire HDD. Next step is to replace the controller.

Saw this code a couple times on older machines like the Savin C3528. Ultimately had to replace HDD's.

Goose's Guide says SC863-15 is a HDD Read Error. You can try reformatting the drive, but if that doesn't resolve it you'll need to replace it.

Depending on what model this is & the "other way you tried to solve"

Try disconnecting the HDD & rebooting this will help you narrow down the issue.
