    jam 056 on mp6002

    hi
Anyone have any issues with some 056 jams on mp6002?
I had one jamming at the transport and at the reg roller and pulled drum, dev unit and then
the sensor at the reg roller that gets dusted wth paper dust and ran it and had no problems.
Customer called a few days later and said it was jamming again..

Could they have told you the wrong area? 056 can also be an ADF registration jam.

If you're seeing paper make it all the way to the duplex diverter before crashing, you may have a broken Guide Plate Lever. It pushes the guide plate over to the left so paper can enter the duplex and head back to the exit section. I've had a couple of them break on me, so they don't hold the guide plate over far enough.

Pull the D2 section out, and see if that plate lever moves on the shaft freely. If it does, that's likely your issue.

What I have seen cause it is usually the 4th tray is set for 11x17 paper and it is empty. And some wingnuts sticks
          8 1 x 2 x11 paper in there.

Here in USA there is no tray 4..Now I know you can add a external paper deck..but on this machine it is plain..

                  Thanks
I think the only jams were at the reg roller or at the vertical transport..
I was short on time so I just pulled drum, dev unit and guide above reg roller to clean that sensor
and checked fuser and top paper tray for broken side fence or bent rear metal from slapping in full reams of paper
with heavy hand...All was good and i ran full smc reports twice and then thru adf and no jams..

just out of curiosity i tried to find that part on my parts manual, just so i can eliminate it upon visit.
is that in the duplex part of manual or beneath fuser itself?

If you have an older version of the parts manual like I do, it is in the paper exit section 3, Item 13, PN B0654422. The part number guitar9199 gave is for the improved part that is not supposed to break as often. Thick plastic where it goes over the shaft pin.

                        Item 13 page 119

If you can move that part when holding down the shaft {Item 12} then you will find the rear of the part cracked off.

I am starting to think maybe I will need to do a full FW update?

You could do that but it's probably not going to help with this problem.
