[Error Code] MP C5503 functional error SC681

    Hi all,

I have this intermittent error during a print run after around 40 pages machine will display 'functional error' with a button to restart.

After the machine restarts it shows "magenta toner not set" simply removing & reinserting the m toner clears the error for around another 40 prints.

In the SC history it logs SC681-012

I've replaced the magenta toner twice but the issue still occurs.

To clarify the machine is not seeing the magenta toner as set, not that the toner is empty magenta print quality is fine.

Any of you guys come across this before?

manual initialization TD (SP3030) that solved the problem, or the RFID board defective or updating the firmware.
then It involves a new kind of tension spring for holding the toner bottle.

That's a good shout, you've just reminded me about a year ago on this same machine a toner would pop out during a run pushing the front door open I bet its the same issue.

      Thank you!

Yes there is a modified spring, this holds the toner in more securely. It doesn't always pop the front door open, just loses contact at the rear & throws SC681 see attached.

Apparently you did not read the entire thread before posting your question.

              thanks
I already knew about the modified spring.
The serial number indicates that the machine comes with the new springs, so it's probably not the problem

maybe the toner contact plate? maybe switch by another color for testing...
