[Misc] MP 4054, Fusing problem, Print quality

    Hello,

I didnt find any one mentioning it on forums here. So i post a thread.

We have MP 4054 machine. The problem is that toner doesnt always fuse to paper.
And the image repeats itself. So far we have:
    • Raised fusing temperatures.
    • Increased fusing idling time.
    • Replaced Fusing sleeve ( D895-4034 ).

Machine still doesnt always fuse toner to paper. Sometimes prints come out fine.
    Pictures attached.

Any suggestions? I appreciate any answers. Thanks a lot.

      • Fuser - 291675/320000
      • Fusing Belt (Sleeve) - 328/320000
      • Drum - 291675/160000 , Drum was replaced, counter was not reset.
      • Developer - 291675/160000, not sure about developer, can developer cause this ?

Never seen before. I dont think developer has anything to do with the problem.
Toner simply doesnt fuse to paper from time to time.

Also before replacing the sleeve it was 2/10 pages that came out not fused right.
After replacing the sleeve unit its 8/10 pages that dont fuse correctly.

      Thank you for your answer.

it could be paper, or thermistors. Install a heater over the paper tray

          Hi there!
If not replacing the complete fuser, allways change sleeve, pressroller + bushings & thermistors as a bundle. Otherwise such problems will occur.

I agree. I never replace just the sleeve, the pressure roller is a consumable too. They get weak and lose their elasticity. Always replace the sleeve, bearings and pressure roller as a set. I usually just clean thermistors, if they are in rough shape I replace those too.

I would consider checking whether pressure is even on both sides of fuser???

Ii had this exact system on a new fuser unit from Ricoh. One of the lower bearings had "popped" out of place.

We replaced the new fusing lamp with the old one, as they were different.
Keeping the new sleeve and so far everything works.
D895-4034 (Sleeve Unit) is for a different machine, looks the same, fits, but the lamp is different.

Thank you all for help. And a happy holiday season.

check via sp output check the release mechanism and pressure roller pressure, you have replaced the sleeve, you would inadvertently mount something wrong, remove the fuser and operate the mechanism with your fingers to see if it really works

Are you using an aftermarket toner?

MP2554 is different than fuser in the faster units
