It depends on how random it is. If it occurs with a large multipage milticopy job and is on the same page of the job in every copy, I would look at the HDD. Otherwise you're looking at the IPU or BCU.

I imagine in print and in copy .. (?). If you have not already done so check / review the drum charging unit and the transfer unit. Then check all their contacts. There may also be an accidental short

Thanks for your interest. Your guess is correct in photocopying and printing, and I'm going to check everything you said

Black lines caused by the HDD, IPU or BICU!?

Personally i'd go for the cleaning blade first slightly cheaper ..............

cleaning blade streak issues on these kind of look wavy and come and go, not typical of other machines . Also change mc wire and vac drum assy.

Clearly not in the 30+ years in this industry black lines on prints have 99.9% never been a board issue.

No take them but be prepared to someday have to replace a board.

By the way, for those saying the charge corona, remember that it is a write to no charge system. A bad corona would would not give a blank sheet. It would give a black sheet.

is THE BLACK LINES solid black or not? If not check hot.
Else check drum also if you touch transfer belt are there any toner resedues? If yes repplace transfer belt and blade.

I would be looking at your charge corona First and foremost. Do the lines go all the way across the page, or are they just little lines/ streaks that appear in spots on the paper?
After the corona I would move on to checking contacts--> replace drum cleaning blade --> Drum --> Fuser roller/ guide. If all those are good, then as Slim said, could be a board or HDD.
