    RICOH MPC3503 Magenta drum/developer problem

    Hello,

    i'am new to the forum and i need your help.
    i got on two machines with very low PM, problem on magenta developer (pictures bellow)
    i tried changing only the drum but it still doesnt work good
    i also tried cleaning the developer and when put back (not new developer) it did the same thing.
    i know i should put new developer but i dont have it in stock right now. the same thing was with bouth of the machines.
    the paper is also a little gritty.




    any ideas?

      have you checked that there are no toner leaks or developer? first clean the interior under the drum / develop units thoroughly. , clean mirrors, laser slides, then do the color calibration. You probably have a problem with the dev. magenta the unit must be replaced.

          I don't know what it is but the #1 issue i have with the 3003/3503 and 4503/5503 series is the MAGENTA PCU.
          I started a forum awhile ago asking if anyone knew why i seem to have issues with only magenta on this machine, and it seemed to be written off as just a coincidence.

          But years later and I still have the same findings, I keep multiple M PCU's in stock because when i get a call from a customer that needs service and i know they have an '03, 95% of the time i'm replacing the M PCU.

          I would love to know why the M has issues as well.

              Yeah that's the truth, Magenta seems to fail a lot. I'm sure there's a good reason for that, one we will never know.

                  i have repair 10 unit mpc3003 . the drum magenta DV tank always got problem dirty leaking and print got line . serviecs the magenta developer 2-3 time also same .

                      Very low PM = probably the initial PM parts from anno 2013-15

                      I haven't seen this kind of image problem - what we deal with is usually white lines due to cloggage or toner leaking. You can try and force more full bleed pages and see if the problem gets worse or some "recovering" effects takes place.
