    [CQ] MP 2014 Print cartridge required

    Hello friends
    We have installed 8 Ricoh/gestetner MP2014 copiers in different sections of University Of Peshawar ,Some times i received a service call from the user that the copier shows Alert Replacement required PRINT CARTRIDGE ? the bottle are almost FULL,but still showing this error, So i clear the ENGINE Error and also Remove THE Withe CAP IMG_20200212_103521_9.jpgfrom the bottle and the Toner ADDED easily , SO my QUESTION IS why IT NOT WORK WITH THIS CAP FIXED ON THE BOTTLE.

    the cap is the seal so in transport it doesn't spill! instructions on the box ( bottle also I think) tell you to remove the BLACK CAP!
    do not remove blue cap with nipple on it.. the hopper pulls that out to add toner to the dev unit

    do you not have the service manual for this?

      Thanks , yes i have the S.manual i will check, i checked the HOPPER it clean and empty of Toner ,but some time it happens ,when i remove this CAP i never received CALL from the USER.

          When i remove this CAP from the bottle the copier works fine, In the SP MODE i select memory clear and then Engine and execute OK.

            Now all your engine settings are wrong, good luck. Then call a tech that knows Ricoh.

              One of the problems with these POS entry level machines is that the toner bottle occasionally does not properly engage the drive coupling. To be more specific, the spring loaded drive coupling does not always pop all the way back out.

                  It isn't a blue cap.. look close it's a grey cap with blue toner covering it. Is the a color unit?

                    Advise user unlock green release handle fully before removing bottles or the hopper grip will keep hold of the inner of the toner bottle.

                    Don't clear memory settings in service mode.

                      hi friend, here in Italy we don't have that model, but from the problem as you described it it would seem you need to replace the revolver chuck parts..
                      which can no longer grasp the cap, the parts codes I don't know, but I send you an attachment of the mp2501 (just to make you understand what I mean),
                      then maybe they are the same, I don't know.

                        Hi

                        When you get this error, did you check if the cap from the previous bottle is not left behind in the front of the toner hopper? This sometimes happens and then the machine cannot open then new bottle, and that could be why removing the new bottle's cap, solves the problem. Always ask to see the removed bottle, if you can see into the "open" bottle, the cap is left behind in the hopper.
