Ricoh MP6002 Toner Dusting and premature DV failure.

I know this topic has been covered just wanted to offer a cheat sheet to help those with this problem. I made this from the bulletins and some comments from these forums. If theirs anything I need to add or remove, let me know and I'll revise my sheet and repost it, Thanks.

One of the things I have found that will cause toner dusting. The filter plate not setting on top of the development filterr will allow the pressure that builds up in the development to lift the filter and blow toner dust out the top of the development unit. This usually results in a dirty laser shield glass and toner in the charge corona.

I would add to clean or replace the air and toner filters, replace sponge and velvet felt in the ends of the drum, anti-dispersion toner blade under the drum if old or hardened.

Here's some more interesting things I found on Ricoh TSRC Site.

When I do a developer change I clean the mag roller with scotch brite. If it starts dusting before 200k I replace the developer unit.

THE ONLY THING I WOULD ADD is to inspect is the toner recycle unit with those 2 small mylars that fall off over time.
When you get the dusting are you seeing a dev unit that is over toned or is it just misting toner?
I like to clean the thin drum mylar near the sensor with warm water no chemicals and bend it straight.
IF too deformed then swap it out..

Good call. Clogged filters cause an overheating condition inside the machine and toner will fly everywhere. Also, I have seen a machine with clogged filters actually cause the toner in the hopper to clump and lock everything up. The toner had turned into a brick. Not good.
