    Aficio 400 Error

    Hi,

I was hoping someone could tell me where to begin looking for a problem I'm having with my Aficio 400. When I turn the machine on, after a few seconds the machine beeps and the display says to call a technician and error code SC 361.

    Thanks very much.

If the machine says to call a tech, it will give you a SC-xxx code, and the three numbers together will tell you what the machine sees as the problem. Find the numbers displayed and repost.

This is probably too expensive to fix. Replace hard disk drive #2. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Geez its been awhile since I worked on one of these!
SC361 says the hard drive isnt talking to the Image Processing Board.

Hard drives are cheap but the will only work with a 1 gig HDD. Doubt if you can find one these days as the smallest I've seen is a 60 gig.

              But.....
Bitter experence tells me its the circuit board and if you can find one you will need to sell a kidney to pay for it!

Sorry to say its times to talk to Satans Little Helper, a photocopier salesman. Just remember to put new batteries in your calculator first!

                    ASPER TSB # 38 upgrade the EX-IPU ROM part # A1337876 to version C.

I had to do this aprox. a year ago. I did replace the HDD at the same time. If I remember correctly there was some thing in the manual or the gooses guide about dip switches to reset the code.

FYI my customer still has theirs and it is working fine.
