Why don't you post what the problem is that you are trying to correct instead of asking for firmware that you might not need.

The problem is to scan to gmail.
Tried all the settings, but no luck.
SMTP set up correctly. The account is used by a hb C35 without a problem.

MP C2800 is too old to support TLS which is required now by most email providers. It has to do with on board electronics and there is no way to correct with firmware.

Your only option is to use aspmx.l.google.com as the SMTP server. You will be limited sending messages to only Gmail or G Suite users. You may have to configure the authentication email address to allow "Less Secure Apps".

Agreed. Firmware will solve nothing. You'll have to use another unencrypted solution.
          There are many workarounds

SSL not supported no FW fix so on my old boxes like this I set up a a SMB folder on a PC & users share this they can then attach & email as required.

I'm not so sure, if it's in good condition keep it, MPC2800 was one of the best Ricoh machines ever made. I still have a few out going strong, I hardly ever see them.

It is in good shape, with 160k pages only.

Hardware is robust. Software is terribly behind the times. Unfortunately not much can be done except use work arounds for scanning.

i always described them as BULLET PROOF and do still have many along with the mpc3001/mpc3501 series too.
I just gutted one for parts as i decided not o resell them anymore as the mpc3503s are very good too that I now buy/sell.

WHY is scan to email so important?

A lot of sales people will push it as a necessary feature. I had customers who could care less. They would rather scan to folder, then attach that pdf to an email that they composed to include text documents, spread sheets, databases, etc without having to print them first.
