    mp 2852 sc 670 error

    Hi,

    I have a ricoh mp 2852 giving sc 670 error. I have replaced a new controller board and still same error.
    On checking ricoh error message code in service manual, it shows either controller board or bcu board issues.
    But on chats forum its shows the problem could be ipu board problems with the chips.
    I am not sure if I should order another ipu board or bcu board to solve the problems.
    Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

      Hey
      Yes MP 2852 and SC670 is a big problem. I manage to replace Printer Controller Board (remember : change NVRAM) IPU board and EEPROM from PCB BCU should work

          Unfortunately, there's not a single solution for many SC codes, and this one is one of the most frustrating (SC670/672)
          I've resolved it more than once by simply re-seating the controller board, other times controller replacement was necessary.
          I know of others that have found found that removing/ replacing the fax unit fixed it, but yes, it could also be a bad BICU or IPU.
          Unfortunately, it's a trial and error situation

              Try it with the harddrive disconnected.

                  Before you replaced the controller did you do any other trouble shooting? updating firmware for example?

                      yes, I had one that replacing the hdd and updating the firmware took care of it.
