Re: Ricoh MPC 5503 making loud noise
Check all your transport rollers!
The little "belt rollers" on the right hand door can have the belts wander to one side and cause a noise.
Check the white plastic rollers on right hand door and lube those.
If it's just that initial squeaking/ rubbing sound, then I don't think the issue is from any "unit", otherwise it would continue to make that sound during the print cycle. Or does it??? Kind of a short video to determine that from.
EDIT: There's also a bulletin about the duplex rollers touching the cover and a bracket that make a squeaking noise. Just apply grease to those shafts.Comment

Re: Ricoh MPC 5503 making loud noise
Hi all, I went out to a Ricoh MPC 5503 that makes a loud noise when printing or copying. I changed the image transfer belt and transfer roller thinking the noise was coming from them as they were showing heavy wear but not the case. Here is the link to the noise I'm getting any help will be appreciated.

Run output checks on all the main units this will help you narrow the noise down.
I usually remove the 4 screws from each PCDU then run the output drive on each one if the noise sounds pull that unit out slightly to disconnect the drive then run that output again.
Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Re: Ricoh MPC 5503 making loud noise
Ok so I went back out on site and narrowed the sound coming from the duplex door the shift that controls the 4 belt rollers in the bottom. I removed the 4 screws and plastic cover on the right had side turned the shaft by hand and heard the noise as I turned it. I regreased the shaft and bushing the noise went away on single sided prints but still there on double sided but not as loud. I will see how I go with replacement.Comment
