df 3050 ARDF on a MPC3501 rear side corners folding

I looked at a mpc3501 that would fold every 3rd original very small lead edge corner on the NON OPERATIONAL side
of the machine.
I pulled the plate and cleaned all transport roller and still the same.
The ADF hinges seem ok and i checked the slit glass and tightened all screws and still the same.
So I tried feeding it legal way and it worked ok.
Now all testing i did was scanning to document server.
Customer tries it in scanner mode and it fed slower and bent every rear side corner..
WTF?
I had to tell them i will return due to being on a 4 hour meter,40 minutes away and still having to go somewhere else.

I always have to replace the left hinge to fix this. Seen it a lot on the MP 2550/2851 B&W with the same feeder. The hinge looks OK but it let's the back corner lift up just a millimeter or two. Try putting down pressure on the left rear corner when its feeding and see if the folding stops. If it does, just replace the hinge. Left one only, and pack a lunch. It takes a while the first time, I've got it down to about 30 minutes now...

i much rather carry a hinge than a whole feeder unit to the account.
Looks like its the same part on the DF3030 RADF earlier unit found on the mpc2550,which i have a lot of
that were barely used.

When the hinge is bad, this is how to know it:
Open & close the ADF, push on the left rear side of the ADF, if it moves downwards, replace hinge.

Did u replaced the 2 long screws with 2 normal screws? , is a buletin about this issue , very old .

i at first pulled the hinge from a mpc2050 but it was real PITA to get everything off..
AS I really hate being at this account as they always have some odd PC issues they feel the need to
ask me while i am trying to focus on the copier...
I ended up carrying a spare complete feeder i had saved that was good just to get in and out...

If that one goes it time to pop in a mpc4503...
