    MP9002 Jamming on tray 1

    Hello everyone

Please can I have some assistance, I have an MP9002 which jams at B, however, it jams constantly for like 5 minutes then you clean the feed rollers or open the door and close and it will run about 2000 copies until it starts jamming again constantly.

I've replaced the A guide, feed station, feed rollers, both the trays and tried new paper. It has a fold on the corner of the page most of the time as soon as it leaves the feed station, I've checked the guides on the feed station and it's fine, all the mylars are fine, I've even replaced the reg unit.

    Please can someone help.

    Thank you

Is it from one or both trays? I had something similar happen to me from Trey 1. Never found the problem, so ended up replacing Trey 1 feed unit and that fixed it.

Forget about the damned jam letter. That is merely to tell the operator where to look for the jam. What is the actual jam code, displayed in the form Jxxx where xxx is a 3 digit number. It tells us whether the jam is detected by the relay sensor or the registration sensor and whether it is a late jam of a lag jam. An actual paper tray jam would be an operator letter of A, not B.

Judging by the fact that you mention bent corners I tend to think you may have worn guides in the registration and bypass section of the 9002. Tray 1 is probably the only tray 11 inch wide paper that is regularly used. The corners of the paper will eventually wear through the Mylars that separate the paths of the trays, duplex and bypass. You will need to remove the entire registration and bypass unit from the right side of the 9002 to inspect and replace. If you have never done one before follow the instructions in the service manual, 4.11.17REGISTRATION AND BY-PASS UNIT REMOVAL.

These are very reliable machines if I have any feed issues I would always start replace feed rollers and limiter must be oem blow all sensors out on that unit. What's the pm don't start by replacing units have you got jam code

Check that the Dev unit hasn't shot it's load at the rear. When the seals go , developer pisses out and goes thru the feed stations gears and torringtons.

If you had read more than just the thread title you would have seen that he said he has replaced the feed station.

I did read the story mate. I have seen on more than one occasion, when techs have replaced the feed station, the feed issues reoccur due to leaking developer contaminating the new feed station.
Hope you're enjoying the view on your high horse.....

Not immediately takes a few thousand sheets. One other thing, developer in the clutches do not cause the corners of the paper to get bent. Worn guides in the REGISTRATION AND BY-PASS UNIT do. Every time I have had bent corners before the registration roller it has been either worn guides or small scraps paper between the guides.

It's only tray 1, tray 2 and 3 work with no issues at all
