Re: MP9002 Jamming on tray 1
I would check the tray itself. I have seen when the paper is stacked crooked or a stack of sheets folded under on one corner it causes this. If the sheet table is crooked or an issue with the cables not lifting uniformly it will do this... I usually run the table cable lift up and down by hand and measure with a tape and see that it is square and level. Those cables sometimes have a mind of their own.

Re: MP9002 Jamming on tray 1
You can swap one of the working paper feed units from either tray 2 or 3, they are all the same. If the problem follows, you can narrow the problem to the paper feed unit. I did get a good look at the one I was working on, it kind of looked like one of the tension springs needed replacement. Unfortunately, was unable to find part, so just replaced entire feed unit.Comment

Re: MP9002 Jamming on tray 1
I wonder if there might actually be 2 problems. One causing the fold. The other causing the jam. Otherwise the fold and delay are happening in the paper path somewhere between transport sensor 1 and the relay sensor.Comment

Re: MP9002 Jamming on tray 1
but how? I've changed the whole reg unit as well as the A guide and the feed station and the other trays go through the same paper path. Where else could the issue be? Perhaps a board?Comment

Re: MP9002 Jamming on tray 1
My guess would be a burr on the plastic flip down turn guide coming out of the tray 1 feed station. It is close enough to the 1st transport sensor to not have delayed the paper enough to cause a J008 as the fold could be in the middle of happening. Far enough from the relay sensor to have delayed it enough to be detected as a jam J012. If that is the case, if you swap feed stations 1 and 2 the fold will still be there and the jam might change to J008.Comment

Re: MP9002 Jamming on tray 1
UPDATE: I have swopped tray 1 and 2 feed stations around and ran 15k copies and no jams. I don't know how that's possible. Thanks to everyone for the assistance.Comment
