    firmware update mpc3003SP failure

    Hoi,

With romdata (1.37 sys cop) update it keep saying: "firmware update please wait"
With package (Ver.29.00) update "execute" is not been highlighted..., also "#" does not execute the update.

On two different c3003 = problem.
I have already deleted and uploaded the firmware again, no good.
SD card is 100% good working with other machines.

    Do you have = experience?

oh, i see that the sys firmware is updated on 27/10/20 to R
I think the problem is now solved, because on my SD card the sys Q was from 1/9/20
    Solved, i hope.

Glad you hopefully fixed it but I just wanted to note that I find these machines can take forever for the firmware to begin executing. If you don't have sounds on the panel either it seems like it isn't responding when you hit # or execute but all its doing is beeping at you after a bit but since the sound is off it looks like its not responding. I've had to wait 10 minutes in some cases once it hits the firmware screen before it begins executing.

Turn off Java if you're not using it, SP5730 from 1 to 0, then it will boot much faster.

              +1 on this.

Update engine & system/copy first via romdata reboot then update using the latest .pkg file.

Java is for running Java apps.

Back before Ricoh introduced models that allowed you to restrict the total number of pages each user could print there was a JAVA app called User Account Limit v1.1. When setting it up you had to set it as the default function. You couldn't do anything other than the scan function until both JAVA and the app had loaded, anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes depending on the speed of the controller processor.

After i double checked the romdata files and re-downloaded the package firmware, i update the firmware on a c3003 in our showroom:
Package: machine starts up a normal cycle (so to copy, scan,...), no firmware mentioning on display
Romdata: endlessly "firmware update, please wait"
Has anyone successfully updated the c3003 (recent) firmware recently?
I know there is SP and ZSP firmware. Ours is SP.

What files are you puting in the romdata folder?

                    Did you try just
                    engine & system/copy first?

After all this SD over-using (abuse?), my SD card has decided to die.
I ordered a new one which i will receive through mail delivery (corona) tomorrow (i hope).
In Belgium only "main need shops" are open... like food, drinks, drugs and stuff like that.
Main need = not SD cards; you can't eat them (oh no?), nor drink them, not even smoke them.
So, waiting is the thing to do.
I've noticed that - in the deeplink Japan - sometimes an item (e.g. sys. cop.) has been yellow highlighted ...
I think that this indicates that this highlighted items needs te be done before you do the packet or the rest of the items.
                        Wright?

The yellow highlighted items mean they are the latest versions but not included in the package firmware (e/g yellow items are newer than with the package)

Try updating the firmware via the WIM.

                            You'll need the RFU files.

It was solved with a new SD cart 2Gb.
Strange is that the old SD cart would update other models, but not mpc3003!
