    IMC300 Bluetooth printing?

IMC300 has built in bluetooth in SOP, I have a client who wants to use it to print from his laptop but it always pairs as music device, tried to add the printer by using "Add Printer wizard" but the printer not discovered. Is it even possible to print on IMC series over bluetooth?

Why does he want to print via Bluetooth? this is a very unreliable method.

Can he not simply print via IP?

the link is not even a useful if you have access to Ricoh, it just takes you to the TSRC home page.

Printing via IP or USB is not applicable due to some limitations. They have been using printing over bluetooth on their old mpc2051 and need same set up on new imc300.

Unless there is a Bluetooth option for the controller I believe that the SOP Bluetooth has a very limited range, like 5 meters or less. What about connecting to it with a USB cable?

Bluetooth printing on an MPC 2051 you sure?

If they don't have the copier on a network I would simply run a LAN cable to the machine or better still create a simple little network with no net access if they're concerned about security.

                  mea culpa

Did you load the driver like it says on page 15 of this doc?

Soon as I read the title of this thread I thought: "oh great, something else to learn."

I've never seen bluetooth printing and I won't be heartbroken if I never do.

I did read that there are bluetooth extenders just like there are wifi extenders.

Bluetooth technology offers a convenient and fast way of connecting smart-driven devices. ... Fortunately, it's easy to overcome this range limitation with the best Bluetooth extender. These plug-and-use devices normally extend your Bluetooth Wireless range up to 100 feet indoors and 300 feet outdoors

Optional hardware item. Uses the same controller slot that can also be used for the the IEEE 1284 parallel interface and the wireless interface. From the installation instructions in the service manual it looks like might be a PCMCIA Bluetooth card and proprietary adapter.

Thanks everybody for your suggestion. It did work, connected the printer and laptop/PC to the same (WiFi) network, chose Bluetooth port while adding the printer and it showed up in the list.

Airprint can also be used with windows... even a c2800 will print.
                            Easy to set up.

Out of interest when the copier & laptop are on the same wifi network why do you want Bluetooth printing!? why not simply set up regular PCL wifi printing via IP?
