    Troubleshooting send to SMB share

    Hello!,

    How do you troubleshoot issues when trying to scan to folder?. I have a MP C306Z configured to send to a samba folder, tested credentials on a Linux client and they work properly. This is the current configuration on the printer side:

    msh> smb
    Workgroup Name : LAN
    Computer Name : PRINTER01
    Comment :
    Notification : Off
    Protocol : IPv4
    Client Port : 445
    Client Auth Level : 2 (NTLMv2->NTLM/LM)
    Client WSD Browse : Off
    Client Write Mode : Async
    Client Timeout : 20
    Client v3 : on

    msh> dns
    DNS Configuration:
    Ethernet(ether):
    DDNS : On

    Common parameters:
    Static configuration:
    1 : 0.0.0.0
    2 : 0.0.0.0
    3 : 0.0.0.0
    DHCP configuration(Selected):
    primary server 10.X.Y.Z
    secondary server 0.0.0.0
    Static configuration(IPv6):
    1 : ::
    2 : ::
    3 : ::

    DDNS :
    Overlap : Update
    Cname : Off
    Regist A Record : DHCP
    Regist AAAA Record : DHCPv6
    Interval Time : 24(h)

    Scan finished without any error message on screen, file is not created in destination.

    There were a few firmware updates to address this issue, try updating to the latest package.

      I just updated 😬

      From the configuration output it seems the new default includes the correct protocol versions.

      Are the log files I could watch?, manual mount commands I could test? (through telnet console?)

        Yes you can use Telnet to diagnose where your issue is.

          What flavour of Linux is the client machine? The firewall may need to be changed to allow SMB traffic.

          If the share is on the Linux system, make sure that all of the share settings in /etc/samba/samba.conf are correct. The permissions are usually the hardest thing to get right.

            go to web image monitor, and go under configuration, you will find "the system log" (last entry at the bottom), and see what exactly the controller tells you
