Ricoh IM C4500 - Waiting for firmware update data... Please wait.

    Hello,

Have a problem starting up the Ricoh IM C4500.
Tried to update the firmware remotely using Web Image Monitor.

It's partially failed and now displaying the following message:

    Waiting for firmware update data...
    IPV4 address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    Please wait.

I cannot enter SP mode. Nothings works. Can ping the device Ok.

Anyone can advise if there is any methods to recover the device?

    Thanks.

Oeps, i think you messed it up by interrupting the firmware download.
    Did you?

what firmware were you updating? the whole package or single? You have to repeat the procedure using another method and try again with another file with usb or sd card.

Use the SD card update method this will recover your error.

Just to clarify. I was attempting firmware update over the network, remotely.
Not sure what's happened, but found I've lost communication with the embed. server.
Visiting office, found the machine in the above mentioned state. "Waiting for firmware update data.."

And yes, I've tried SD card firmware update, cannot enter the SP mode.
            806182 used to enter. Reset - 8-0-6-1-8-2 - C
            D0BN5592K.pkg was used for update.

SD card is detected by machine - can see the icon.

            Any suggestions?

Installing firmware using a SD Card has nothing to do with SP mode. Download the firmware, extract it from the .zip file and load it to the SD card. Power the C5400 off. Insert the SD card into the service slot on the controller. Power the C4500 back on. Follow the instructions of the screen.

                I second that.
You need to have .fwu files for the same.
the WIM files cannot work with the USB/SD CARD.
                Thanks.

I got the impression that he was trying to setup automatic updates through SP settings. I also get the impression that he is not an authorized Ricoh trained tech and not knowing WTF he was doing ended up screwing the pooch.

Copy the .pkg file to a folder named package onto the root of your SD card. (card must be no larger than 4GB & newer SD cards will not work.)

Insert the card into the service slot (lower) & power on the machine.

The later version is D0BN5592W Ver.3.53

You don't need to enter service mode to update firmware I think you should get a credited ricoh service engineer.

                        Thanks everyone for help.
SD card reformatting has helped to resolve an issue with FW update.
