    noise from fusing on MPC3500 in standby

    hi

    when the machine is in standby
    the fusing start running for some seconds with a clicking noise

    is there a solution for this?

    don't tell me to put off the main switch

    That noise is more than likely the fuser idling i.e. it stops the fuser rollers from getting a flat spot by turning them every so often.

    Have you not had this on other machines, are you a end user or toner monkey

      some machines do it and others dont

      or is this a setting you can set off?

        Make sure the oil supply roller isn't worn out, that can cause clicky fusers.
        It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

          Sorry had to ask if you were a tech - to many end users on here asking and dont understand the reply when you say simple things that techs understand

          I dont think you can turn it off only extend it in sp 1103 and i wouldn't turn it off anyway, as i said it stops flat spots on the fuser. Have a check what toner munkey said with the oil suply roller as i've had one stick to the roller and it makes some funny sounds.

          SP1-115-002) every 60 minutes (adjustable with SP SP1-115-001).
