Ricoh MPC3504ex won't stay powered on

We had a bad storm last week. Customers router had to be replaced. Ricoh mpc3504ex had a surge protector on it, but now when you turn it on screen says loading, then says shutdown and powers down. I tried hdd, unplugging fax and ethernet . I have a power supply board and controller board on order for it.

If you leave HDD unplugged any thing different? Will it take firmware?

Have you tried a power reset of the SOP? When it shuts back off unplug the power cord from the wall then press and hold the control panel power button until the power led flashes. This will discharge all the capacitors in the SOP which will clear any memory lockup.

That sounds operation panel main board-y to me.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.
