Ricoh IMC3000 envelope double prints from Word

Ricoh IMC3000 envelope double prints from word. We can slow the bypass down in copier mode but when we go to Word to do mailings not seeing any way for thick/ envelope or to slow the machine down to fuse the print. Thanks for any help.

what version of word are you using? all that i recall having seen has envelope as an option under mailings. it would not make any sense to not have envelopes as an option.

bypass? my imc3000 shows envelope as an option.
what type of envelops are you using? if it is the self-adhesive then no bueno. as that only makes that area all the thicker, which in my book isn't good for the fuser.

What driver are you using? Is the bypass set to allow Program/Command or is it at Machine Setting in Settings - System Settings - Tray Paper Settings?

try cardboard or thick 3, the by-pass has more range of thickness, which driver do you use?

They are using the latest PCL 6 driver from Ricoh. Word version I am not sure of. The bypass is set to driver command. It works fine until you use word mailings to generate an envelope because you can't select and "paper type" from the mailings envelope settings. Was not sure if there is a work around. Thanks for any help.

I work on too many brands and in my old age it's difficult to keep them seperated anymore. This has always been an issue with M$ word. Not sure if you can do this with Ricoh, others you can. You can print to bypass or tray requesting envelope media. But actually in the bypass or tray you have custom media (envelope sized media) set to thick 3 or 4. Red light will come on copier requesting envelopes and you just manually select the tray/bypass with the envelopes. In general an envelope here and there through the tray will print just fine, it's when they do multiples when you get the ghosting. On some equipment you can raise the fusing temp for specific media through service mode, hp's for example.

I have a few clients, usually lawyers, who print on envelopes, never a problem.
as already suggested, you could force the temperature on that specific support, but that's not the best thing.
the doubt that comes to me is that: isn't it that the fuser unit isn't at its best?...I would try another one...sometimes I get someone who isn't at 100%

Well there are 3 PCL 6 drivers available from Ricoh:
                1. PCL 6 Driver Ver 1.56.0.0 Released Date: 09/07/2023,. This is the standard driver for almost all uses.
                2. PCL6 V4 Driver for Universal Print Ver.4.26.0.0 Released Date: 02/27/2024
                3. PCL6 Driver for Universal Print Ver.4.38.0.0 Released Date: 02/08/2024
You should be using the first one. Microsoft V4 and Universal Print are only needed if your software documentation says to use them.

Microsoft Word has never been the greatest when it came to selecting print features. Try setting the paper type for the bypass in the driver before launching Word.

When using the envelope print function from the document itself, there is not a way to change the bypass paper TYPE. It will default to plain paper.
I create a second driver and name it "Ricoh envelope",The envelope printer is defaulted to the bypass tray, #10 envelope and type envelope. Then before creating the envelope you select "print" and change printers to the Ricoh envelope printer. proceed to create the envelope and print.
This is the only way I have found to deal with word. The older versions of word allowed a paper type change from the print screen
